To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness. — Robert Morley
Dear One,
Imagine waking up, going through your day, and laying your head on your pillow each night being deeply grounded in the strength, peace& passion that comes from really, truly loving yourself…
What does it feel like really, truly love yourself?
Today is the last day…
Healthy self-love matters
“You can never meet your potential until you truly learn to love yourself.”― Teresa Collins
I started Fall In-Love w/ Yourself February back in 2012.
I’d separated from my narcissistic abuser the summer before and was beginning to see just how beaten down my relationship with myself had become. I put a call out for submissions, wrote a couple of posts myself, and that was that — it was great! As a survivor of a narcissistic mother, who had then spent over 15 years trapped in an abusive marriage to another narcissist, I had realized that my…
It can’t always, or even mostly, be about making a sale.
All of us are born with creative energies to create simply because of the call to create. Some of us may create incredible music or art, others are called to create welcoming spaces to help others feel at ease, or to craft meals from the heart because feeding people is a form of every day magic we all must partake in. Others may find their creative outlet in numbers, or in knowing intuitively how to say just the right thing to ease another’s pain.
Every human is born with…
It is good to reflect, ponder & release

What a year we’ve all had.
After a year like 2020, it’s tempting to run charging (in relief or fear) into the next year — full steam ahead and all that.
But, we mustn’t rush so quickly that we fail to reflect on what has passed, and dream a bit about what is to come.
This week, I’m taking time to Unravel my Year. It’s a lovely & in-depth process given to us by Susannah Conway. This year…

“So many years past being raped, I tell myself what happened is ‘in the past.’ This is only partly true. In too many ways, the past is still with me. The past is written on my body. I carry it every single day. The past sometimes feels like it might kill me. It is a very heavy burden.” — Roxanne Gay
On a Facetime Thanksgiving call with my in-laws this afternoon and my mother-in-law pushes her husband to tell us a story about the he wandered into a human trafficking/forced porn situation.

Grateful & tired…
Dear One,
I spent all of last week within the icy, raging grasp of a migraine. Trying different combinations of medications and cool wet rags on my brow in a dark, quiet bedroom. I did find some good measurement of relief in a round-the-clock Benadryl and Tylenol combo. Some relief, but not enough really.
I am beyond grateful to share with you that we figured out what the trigger was and were able to remove it from our home last Friday. By Saturday evening I was not only migraine, but headache free!
I was blessed by those…

Every person is a quotation from all their ancestors. — Ralph Waldo Emerson
Autumn is built to honor the places within yourself where are you drawn to connect with those who’ve come before. It is a time well suited for reaching back across time and space in search of connecting with your ancestors, whether blood relatives or cultural ones.
We, women, have unique cultural and ancestral lineages.
Some are far-reaching — like those brave women who fought and suffered to get American women the right to vote.
Some are closer to heart and home — like…
