Grateful Hearts … Day 18
“How can I be substantial if I do not cast a shadow? I must have a dark side also If I am to be whole.” ― C.G. Jung

Welcome to Day 18!
Today our prompt is… Shadows / Darkness
Our culture has been infected with a cowardly, erroneous belief. A virus of violent self-denial. All of this nonsense spouted that is meant to make us reject and sometimes even fear our shadow selves.
I call bullshit.
As Jung said:
“People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own souls. One does not become enlightened by imaging figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
If you believe in a God, especially if you believe in a Christian God, then it stands to reason that you believe you were made in God’s image, knit together by God’s own loving hands.
If God created you … how can your shadow side be a mistake?
No, it cannot.
I’m not saying we should give in to every dark and dangerous, fearful and hate-filled thought that comes our way. No, I’m not saying that at all.
