Having experienced ableism in sessions before, I know firsthand the need for disabled therapists out there. I've spent the nearly 7 years since getting my BA in Psych trying to figure out how to get through grad school and, most challenging of all for my disabled body, the internships and training hours.
Recently I'm starting to accept it isn't feasible with the body I inhabit and begun allowing myself to explore other career paths. There will likely be continued fighting/grieving/accepting cycles in this journey for me, though I am grateful to have reached this point.
It's all such a messed up system for so many reasons.
