I Finally Cracked The $100 Mark With My Medium Earnings!
I’m gonna celebrate right after I publish this story.
The appeal of Medium for me is that it acts as a stable blogging platform for my blogging — no matter the topic.
You see, I’ve been blogging since 2008 and every time I’d change blogs or platforms I’d lose my previous work. I’ve nuked too many blogs as my life, and therefore the focus of my blogging, changes and evolves. I regret every nuked blog. I’d do things differently today for sure.
Writing Life Tip: Don’t nuke your old blogs — save those posts somewhere!
So when I came across Medium.com (thanks to a piece by a Facebook friend), I felt like I’d found a potential solution and a home for the various topics I write about.
I joined Medium and hit publish on my new first piece here on June 30, 2019. Prior to that I’d imported two previously published pieces, but the June 30th piece was the first one written on this platform. It came at a time in my life when I was working through some tremendous trauma stuff and had reached the point in that journey where I felt the need to write about it.
By default, writing here on Medium became part of my healing journey.
