Cause maybe I love my houseplants a little too much

Dear One,

I love having houseplants. Always have, always will I imagine. Today, I counted and I have exactly 30 houseplants.

Darcie Tashey has 90.

Now, I know this isn’t a contest.

Yet, seriously?

I want to buy more houseplants. Wanting to be able to just pop over to the local Ace Hardware or Home Depot and bring home a new plant baby or two (or three) has turned out to be one of the things I miss most in our current pandemic. I’m just not willing to risk getting Covid-19 and possibly dying from it to get a new houseplant.

Dammit.

Thursday I finally got around to repotting my one fern. She lives on my desk, the backdrop for my wee yellowish bird from Elements Studio. She has been unfurling sweetly since I brought her home a month or so ago. I think that was the last time I went into Walmart instead of sitting in my car, always in space #1 next to the cart corral for my grocery pickup.

Fern is becoming a close friend.
