What a Wonder

The lavender is blooming

Dear One,

Summer is now officially here.

My lavender is in full bloom, so is the clover I’ve been cultivating in my front yard. Oh, and my roses too.

Saturday it was under 70’ and rainy.

Today it is in the 80’s — too hot for me so I’m staying inside today and tomorrow.

Wednesday I am looking forward to working in my garden some more. My husband may even build me a third raised bed!!! I wonder what I’ll choose to plant in it?…

I’m considering spending an afternoon holed up in a park with a giant iced coffee, a copy of my first print release Slow Summers sitting on my lap and my notebook and pen at my side. It’s been a year since I released it. The idea of going through it, looking for missed errors/typos, seeing if any updates call out to me — this idea feels nurturing and creative at the same time.

My favorite things about June are the fresh salad greens filling up my garden beds, the scent of lavender filling my nostrils every time I go to check the mailbox, and the truth the the days are now getting shorter — Fall is my favorite season after all ❤

What are some of your favorite things about June? Please, acknowledge those things, those fleeting wonders.
