“The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases. Each of us carries his own life-form — an indeterminable form which cannot be superseded by any other.” ― C.G. Jung

Hello and welcome to the first post here on NeuroDivergently Yours!

It felt right to me that I begin with diving briefly into the terminology around this site’s name. Future posts will often be more informal and I am looking forward to hosting guest posts from other NeuroDivergent writers too!

We begin with a bit of a recent history lesson for those unaware of where the terms neurodiversity, neurodivergent, and neurodiverse originated and why. It is important to understand the history behind the words we use. Also included is a non-exhaustive list of ‘disorders’ that are today included in the term NeuroDivergent. Next, we will examine very briefly the new NeuroDivergent Paradigm that is emerging.

This post is by no means exhaustive but will be a good starting point for those wishing to dive deeper into ND community resources and such.
